Acoustics / Noise measurement

ACOUSTICS / NOISE MEASUREMENT

Noise measurements in operating and idling modes: High noise levels in manufacturing plants affect your employees and can lead to health problems in extreme cases. The noisiness of a machine can have many sources, and their analysis is a prerequisite for meaningful improvement approaches. The noise of the cutting inserts may be worsened by damage of the rotating components or amplified by resonance phenomena of the machine structure and housing. We offer sound level measurements on machinery in accordance with DIN 45635 and DIN EN ISO 3740-3747. We then provide you with the results as well as suggestions of how to reduce the noise levels.

Examples of application

  • Measurement of noise emitted depending on the insulation materials, which can be used when designing machine housings.
  • Measurement of the average noise pressure level and sound energy level of a machine in standstill, idling and operational mode.

Our products

Mechatronics Simulation

Mechatronics Simulation

The flexible multi-body simulation allows for the coupling of structural mechanics with the control loops of machine tools. Interactions between mechanics and numerical control can be investigated in this way.

Finite Element Analysis

Finite Element Analysis

All structural components, guides, bearings and drives are taken into account in an overall model when designing and optimizing machine tools. We can carry out the setting-up of a model and the simulation within a week.

Modal Analysis

Modal Analysis

The vibration behavior of the machine is detected at several measuring points. Thus, the modal shapes the resonance frequencies can be displayed graphically and the specific vulnerabilities of the machine are determined.

Vibration Analysis

Vibration Analysis

The vibration behavior of all relevant machine components are measured so that all significant amplitudes, frequencies and directions of vibration can be detected. In this way, both the cause of vibrations and the effects on the stability of the process can be determined.

Frequency response measurement

Frequency response measurement

By detecting the vibration behavior of the machine after loading it with a dynamic force (impact hammer or shaker), the dynamic compliance of the machine is determined. Thus, resonance points of the machine can be identified and possible risks of vibration can be assessed.

Stiffness measurement

Stiffness measurement

The relative displacement between the tool and the workpiece is measured when under stress from an increasing force. The static stiffness and possible non-linearities can be determined. The measurements can be made in different axis positions in each of the three coordinate directions.

VIEW / planlauf

planlauf / VIEW

planlauf/VIEW is our free software for interactive, three-dimensional and animated visualization of simulation and measurement results of planlauf GmbH.

Vibration damper

Vibration damper

The physical-related susceptibility to bending and torsion vibrations of light, projecting systems can be dampened with oil-based and encapsulated auxiliary mass dampers. We calculate customized solutions and implement them in prototypes or as retrofit kits in the production machines.

Foundation calculation

Foundation calculation

Large machine tools require a stiff foundation in order to be able to achieve the required geometrical accuracy despite moving masses.

Foundation measurement

Foundation measurement

The level of rigidity and the transmission characteristics of foundations, hall floors or ceilings can be measured using special low-frequency measuring displacement or velocity sensors. Then the excitation of the corresponding building structures is measured using a heavy impact hammer.

Cutting simulation

Cutting simulation

An accurate representation of the surface texture and characteristic values after machining can be achieved using standard models for milling, turning or grinding and individual models of special processes. The individual forces and displacements can also be established in this way.

HS-spindle concentricity

HS-spindle concentricity

The measurement of the dynamic spindle concentricity is preferably carried out without contact by means of eddy current sensors measuring in several directions simultaneously. Both the axial
displacement of the spindle and the resonance regions of the spindle bearing system can be detected.

SPINDLE / planlauf

planlauf/SPINDLE

planlauf/SPINDLE is our software for the simulation of the static and dynamicnproperties of main spindles based on the Finite Element Method. We placed particular emphasis on intuitive operation and short computation times when developing this software.

Measurement software

Measurement software

To increase measurement accuracy, reliability and speed we develop appropriate algorithms to monitor and evaluate your specific measurement scenarios software solutions which meet your needs regarding measured variables, file formats and compatibility with instruments.

Cutting force

Cutting force

Force-measuring platforms under the workpiece or integrated force sensors measure high dynamic cutting forces in the coordinate three directions. Subsequently, the process can be optimized by reducing peak loads, thereby increasing the life of tools.

Displacement measurement

Displacement measurement

The displacement of machine components under the weight of workpieces or due to the loads in processes, the overshoot and the repeatability of dynamic positioning of the axes can be monitored relative to the machine or relative to the floor of the hall. This monitoring can be carried out both in the short-term as well as in the long-term.

Measurement electronics

Measuring electronics

We construct robust and easy-to-use measurement electronics for safe use in industrial environments. High quality sensors and electronics, with which we have had good experience, are selected for your specific applications.

Temperature measurement

Temperature measurement

Precise measuring of temperatures, while a machine is in use, are carried out over an appropriate period of time to determine the accuracy of the machine. This is done using thermocouples in all major components of the machine. Possible impacts can thus be assessed directly in combination with displacement measurements.

Acoustic / noise measurement

Acoustic / noise measurement

The noise measurement equipment provides the average noise pressure level and sound energy level at standstill, idling and in operation according to current industrial standards. The measurement via microphones, as well as structure-borne sound measurements allow for measuremen a separation the sources of noise.

Time domain analysis

Time domain analysis

The movement behavior of the machine in the cutting process is detected by vibration sensors at several measuring points. The moving measuring point grid is shown directly in the time domain. In this way, time-invariant or transient oscillation movements can be represented in the process.

Chatter diagnosis

Chatter diagnosis

Our experience of over 12 years with over 800 cases using advanced vibration and surface measurement technology make us specialists in the detection, classification and assessment of chatter problems in the manufactured component.

Geometric measurement

Geometic measurement

The positioning accuracy of the moving axes of a machine and its straightness or deviation angularity can be detected using a laser interferometer. The geometric measurement of machinery and equipment is carried in accordance with the ISO 230-2 standard.

Tool calculation

Tool calculation

The geometries of a tool can be calculated using more highly customized, faster and more accurate calculation algorithms based on your component requirements. In this way, all influences can be calculated separately, quickly and with a high variation.

Vibration exciter

Vibration exciter

We develop exciters, which we use as excitation tools in the measurement of dynamic machine stiffness, in response to the rejection of products of different sizes and shapes.
