Modal Analysis and Operational Modal Analysis

A problematic mode shape of your machine and the identification of weak points, i.e. the component with the highest deformation / displacement can be represented graphically and evaluated in a modal analysis or operational modal analysis. This forms the basis for targeted structural measures to improve the stiffness and damping. In the modal analysis, the machine is induced by vibration exciters and the resultant vibration of 300 - 400 measuring points can then be recorded. The operational mode of the machine itself is used as the excitation source for the operational modal analysis.

Examples of application

  • Identification of machine mode shapes for chatter problems.
  • Detailed analyses of individual components (spindles, workpieces, clamping devices, tools).
